Positive Retail gains B Corp Certification
We are thrilled and so very proud to be B Corp certified! What a ride it’s been. We are one of just 19 fashion retail companies in the UK to achieve this gold standard (including beauty) and one of 2,300 B Corps in the UK.
When we started the certification process, our wonderful Ops Lead Esther said, “Oh, this isn’t just about sustainability is it? It’s actually about being all-round decent business owners, isn’t it?” YES - nail on head.
We believe that even if businesses don’t seek certification, going through the process - asking the questions, testing themselves, and identifying areas for improvement - would do them (and their stakeholders) the world of good.
What is a B Corp?
B Corporations are businesses that put people and the planet on par with profit.
How does it happen?
It’s a rigorous journey that challenges every aspect of business operations to prove how we prioritise people and the planet alongside profit. It took us over a year to get certified.
Why is it important to Positive Retail?
We are disruptive changemakers. Being fully scrutinised and assessed for our work was important to us. This certification is a stamp of approval that shows our customers, employees, suppliers, and wider stakeholders that we are a force for good and believe business can be a force for good.
